5 Books Boss Chick Needs to Read In 2019

I love to read and have come across my fair share of good reads. Last year, I read a lot of inspirational and self-help books that helped me out tremendously in 2018, and I want to share them with you so you can apply the lessons dropped into your life!

Without further ado… here are 5 must-read books you, as a boss chick, needs to read in 2019!

1.) You’re a Bad Ass at Making Money – Jen Sincero

I heard a lot about this book before deciding to purchase only to see what the hype was about. While I do think there are other books that relate to the topic, this book does a great job at being relatable. Filled with personal stories and interviews with those who have found financial success, it’s the perfect motivator for those who are trying to make money and keep it coming in!

2.) The Alchemist – Paulo Coelho

I read this book at least 3 times a year as a quick pick-me-up! The Alchemist is a quick tale of Santiago, a young boy who travels in search of a worldly treasure. Throughout the story, we follow Santiago as he learns about the importance of listening to our hearts, pushing through tough times, and following our dreams no matter what!

3.) Nice Girls Don’t Get the Corner Office – Lois P. Frankel

This book is amazing for any woman seeking to move up in their career. Frankel highlights 101 mistakes women unintentionally do that undermine their place and power, and she offers solutions to overcome them. Even if corporate America isn’t your environment, these tips are beyond valuable for life as a woman in general!

4.) BECOMING – Michelle Obama

I wrote about why this book is so influential and a must read for every young woman! Michelle Obama is one of many examples of what living life on your terms, sacrifice, and new beginnings look like.

5. Awkward Black Girl – Issa Rae

It’s been a good minute since I’ve read this book, but it obviously left an impression on me. W already know that Issa Rae is a genius, both on screen and off screen, but if you’ve never taken the time to read her autobiography, that chronicles how it all started, then you’re definitely missing out! Her tale is a reminder to not wait for an invitation to the party, but to throw your own and throw it your way!

And there you have it! I truly believe these books will have a huge impact on your 2019 if you allow it to be! This list obviously isn’t finite so I’d love for you to share the books that you’ve read that you’ve found influential in your life! Share below!
