Don’t ask me why I waited until 27 to take skin care more seriously, but I did at the end of last year. I’ve never taken serious care of my skin, but when I began experiencing hyperpigmentation, dryness, and a change in skin type out of what seemed like nowhere, I knew I had to make something shake and get my skin back under control.
As I did some research, I kept reading about the importance of eye cream in improving skin texture. I’ve never used an eye cream before, and while I didn’t want to spend big bucks on my first one, I wanted to make sure it was of good quality, so I opted for Elf’s Illuminating Eye Cream.
It’s described as an eye cream that hydrates the eye area and minimizes dark circles with [a] rich formula that nourishes and deeply hydrates the skin with jojoba, Vitamin E, and cucumber.
What I love about the Elf Illuminating Eye Cream is that it’s super lightweight and doesn’t go on heavy at all. I personally hate having a greasy face when I’m going to bed, and this eye cream is exactly the opposite of that. Being so lightweight, it definitely spreads, so a little goes a long way. For me, a pea size amount is more than enough, and covers below my eyes, on my eyes, and the perimeter of my eyes as well. [Make sure that when you apply any product around your eyes, that you pat and not rub! The skin of the eye is the most delicate skin on your body and rubbing or pulling down can cause wrinkles, bloodlines, and more!]
Overall, I do think Elf’s Illuminating Eye Cream is a solid product. One thing to consider is the other products I use in conjunction with it, so I’d like to try it with a thicker face serum to see how to applies as well. I don’t really see it as a brightening cream, as I haven’t noticed much of a difference there, but I do think it’s great for a moisture boost when your skin is feeling a little dry.
For less than $10, it’s definitely worth the purchase and a product that I’ll keep in vanity cabinet for sure!
